What is multi-housing? Multi-housing is multiple family communities. One of Colorado’s largest mission opportunities is to reach people who live in such places as apartments, condominiums, manufactured housing, live work and play communities, gated communities, associations, military, collegiate, and senior-assisted living. Multi-housing communities encompass every age and ethnicity regardless of socioeconomic status.In Colorado, approximately 50% of our population lives in multi-housing communities and 96% are unchurched. Eric Boykin serves as our appointed NAMB Multi-housing Missionary for the Colorado Baptist Convention. Boykin says, “We can no longer ignore these communities and hope the situation gets better. We must take action. It may be as simple as coaching a lay person that lives in that community to start a Bible study or a kids club. It may be prayer-walking for a person of peace. It may be moving into a free apartment and serving as a CARES Team for the community.” Our prayer is to see believers living and serving in their neighborhoods, apartment buildings, trailer parks, lofts, and townhomes to connect with residents and to share God’s love. “There are dozens of ways to connect with multi-housing residents, it just takes a couple of people with a heart for this highly unreached people group.”
