Lazaro Chapa is the Intercultural Missional Church Leader. He is originally from Mexico and has been working with the Colorado Baptist Convention since 2001. He has a wife, Ana, and a daughter, Betsy. Lazaro graduated from the University of Nuevo Leon in Mexico as a Civil Engineer and three years later moved to Argentina to study in a Missions School in Buenos Aires, where he met his wife Ana.

Lazaro has been a church planter in Tijuana, Mexico; Madrid, Spain; and California. He graduated from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts in Intercultural Ministry. He has a passion for the People Groups that are here in our state, to see them coming to know Jesus; to see churches that are culturally relevant for those groups being started; and to see indigenous leaders emerging to reach their own people for Jesus. Lazaro strongly believes that the enthic groups in our state are receptive to the gospel, and that there is a huge door open for us as Colorado Baptists to see a movement of the Holy Spirit among the nations (people groups) of Colorado.
