The Edge Church Teams Up for Soccer Camp with Texas Partner

Aurora, Colo.- “GOOOOOAAAL!”
That is the cry that could be heard every afternoon June 10 through the 13 as Soccer Camp took place at Red-tailed Hawk Park in Aurora. The Edge Church, a church plant lead by Pastor Ryan Heller, hosted this as an opportunity to engage the young families in their area of outreach. Over 50 children ranging from kindergarteners up to fifth graders played their hearts out and improved their soccer skills throughout the course of the three-day camp.
The camp was structured so that each child played with others from their age group and went through drills, games and exercises. It was facilitated by the youth group from North Richland Hills Baptist Church from Fort Worth, Texas who came with 7 adults and 14 students to spend the week in Aurora doing Soccer camp, passing out fliers about The Edge Church in neighborhoods, and hosting block parties. In a nutshell this group provided manpower that The Edge Church needs to multiply the hands and feet bringing the love of Jesus to the community.
As kids scored soccer goals, the overall goal of both churches involved was to bring children and parents in contact with the Gospel. “All these things we are doing here are to tell people about Christ,” said youth pastor of North Richland Hills, Steve Pulley.
Seeds were most certainly planted. “Most of the kids that came to soccer camp were not from our church,” reported Pastor Heller. In fact, by the end of the week 10 children made professions of faith as new believers. Kids that attended Soccer Camp have obtained not only sports knowledge but also tidbits of truth that will potentially impact them for eternity.
