Belarus Partnership
Internationally, Colorado's Baptists are partnered with Baptists in Belarus.
Each year, the partnership offers opportunities for Coloradoans to travel to Belarus for ministry or to simply link with a Belarussian church in a shared prayer ministry.
The Colorado Baptist Convention is linked together with Team Belarus and the Baptist Union of Belarus in taking the gospel to this former Soviet Bloc nation. Our prayer is to reach the very edge of lostness. Our strategy is for churches to link arm in arm to penetrate lostness. Churches in Belarus need to be strengthened. However, we discourage Colorado churches from simply sending money to a sister Belarusian church. Although money can help, we must avoid creating or maintaining a dependency model. We want to provide resources and strategies which are easily reproducible and enhance ouor ability to reach unreached and untouched people groups throughout Belarus.
What are different means of participation in this Partnership?
-
Swords into Plowshares - Agricultural misisons and seeds providing farm implements and livestock for Belarusian families. Contact Bill and Carol Gutshall at geegee@grundyec.net.
-
Prayer - Church-to-Church Partnerships. Establish contact with your sister church to share prayer needs on a regular basis. Contact Dan Dellinger at fsbcpastor@qwest.net. Elevate the Week of Prayer for Partnership Missions during the second week of July.
-
Mission Trips - Churches and/or individuals can go on short-term mission trips. Churches or individuals may prefer to join another team going into Belarus rather than starting from scratch. This may be especially advisable to those new to international travel or mission experiences.
-
Partnering Church- A Partnering Church is a church willing to make the commitment to partner with a Belarusian church to stand together and reach out to lostness. These are best if maintained for at least a five year period. The intent is to keep the focus of the Colorado Partner and the Belarusian Partner on doing solely that which impacts lostness.
-
Financial Giving - The CBC is not interested in creating another mission offering. We realize God will impress some people to specifically support our partnership missions. There is a designated account set up for this purpose. You may send checks to: CBC Partnership Missions. These monies are used for promoting partnership missions, providing scholarships for mission volunteers and providing supplies for teams.
We encourage your church to set up a mission trip line item which can be used to scholarship possible needs of persons going on short-term missions.
